Job Summary

The Recruitment Coordinator will have responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of the recruitment process for up to 300 ELT teachers and academic staff across the organisations summer school and mini-stay programmes in the UK, Ireland, USA and Spain. The role will ensure that the organisation attracts, recruits and appoints high-quality academic staff who meet the required academic, professional and safeguarding standards.

The postholder will play a key role in ensuring that recruitment is undertaken consistently, efficiently and in accordance with the organisations Safer Recruitment Policy, safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation in each country of operation. In addition to recruitment, the role will provide support to the Academic Team in curriculum development, academic administration and coordination, as well as contributing to the effective management and coordination of summer school and mini-stay campuses.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of ELT, ideally hold a CELTA or equivalent ELT qualification, and have practical experience of teaching, academic management or recruitment within the ELT sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • ELT Recruitment
  • Lead and coordinate the annual recruitment campaign for up to 300 ELT teachers and academic staff across the UK, Ireland, USA and Spain.
  • Develop and maintain an effective annual recruitment plan and recruitment timetable.
  • Advertise vacancies through appropriate recruitment platforms, ELT networks, universities, social media and other relevant channels.
  • Manage applications and maintain an accurate recruitment pipeline.
  • Shortlist candidates against agreed academic, professional and safeguarding criteria.
  • Conduct interviews and, where appropriate, support other members of the Academic Team with candidate selection.
  • Maintain a strong candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Build and maintain a database of suitable returning and prospective teachers.
  • Develop relationships with teacher training organisations, universities and ELT networks to support future recruitment.
  • Monitor recruitment performance and identify opportunities to improve the quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of recruitment.
  • Safer Recruitment & Safeguarding
  • Ensure that all recruitment activity follows the organisations Safer Recruitment Policy and Procedures.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection requirements relevant to the organisations operations in the UK, Ireland, USA and Spain.
  • Ensure appropriate safeguarding checks, references, identity checks, qualifications and right-to-work/eligibility checks are completed before staff commence employment, in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Ensure recruitment records are accurate, complete, securely maintained and auditable.
  • Work closely with the HR and Safeguarding teams to ensure compliance with organisational policies and local legal requirements.
  • Identify and elevate safeguarding or recruitment concerns appropriately.
  • Ensure safeguarding considerations are embedded throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
  • Support the development and regular review of safer recruitment procedures as legislation and best practice evolve.
  • Academic Support & Curriculum Development
  • Support the Academic Director and Academic Team with the development, review and implementation of ELT curricula and teaching programmes.
  • Assist with the development and updating of lesson plans, schemes of work, teaching resources and academic documentation.
  • Support the implementation of consistent academic standards across all summer school and mini-stay campuses.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of academic programmes using student, teacher and Group Leader feedback.
  • Support the Academic Team with teacher induction, training and professional development.
  • Assist with the preparation of academic materials and resources ahead of each summer season.
