JOB TITLE: People & Culture Advisor (Maternity Cover)
REPORTING LINE: Company Secretary & Legal Director
DEPARTMENT: People & Culture
CONTRACT: Full-time, 12 month fixed-term
THE ROLEAs People & Culture Advisor, you will support the department with effective and efficient administration, and providing first-line HR advice and support to line managers. Working across the full employee lifecycle, this will include recruitment, onboarding, talent identification and development, performance management, absence management, employee relations and offboarding.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide first-line advice to departments on recruitment, induction, talent identification and development, performance management, absence management and employee relations.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for multiple roles simultaneously – from job adverts and shortlisting to interviews and offers – including advising hiring managers on advertising routes and liaising with agencies where needed.
- Keep recruitment tracking spreadsheets and SFA audit documentation accurate and up to date, closely monitoring document expiry dates.
- Monitor and respond to queries in the recruitment and HR inboxes.
- Complete pre-employment checks, including PVG applications, right to work checks and references, ensuring all Child Protection requirements are met in line with SFA regulations.
- Prepare and issue contracts of employment, consultancy agreements, contract amendments, probationary letters, training agreements and leaver references, peer-reviewing documentation as required.
- Deliver HR inductions for new starts and maintain accurate personnel records.
- Produce regular management, holiday and recruitment reports, and keep the HR system up to date.
- Support wider People & Culture administration, including performance review cycles, training and development activity, absence management, and ad hoc project work.
- Previous HR administration and advisory experience in a similar, fast-paced role.
- Hands-on recruitment experience, from advertising through to offer stage.
- Confidence using and extracting data from an HR system.
- Experience handling highly confidential information with discretion.
- Knowledge of administering PVG applications is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage a varied workload to deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
