This is a hybrid role with the office based in Stepps. From Glasgow Queen Street, there are frequent direct train services with an approximate 15-minute journey time to Stepps station. The office is located around a 10-minute walk from Stepps station. Alternatively, the office is approximately a 20-minute drive from central Glasgow, depending on traffic.
The OpportunityWe're supporting a major UK water and wastewater infrastructure delivery organisation as they continue to strengthen their information management capability. They are now seeking an experienced Information Manager to join their team based in Stepps, with hybrid working available.
This role sits within a complex, collaborative capital delivery environment and offers the opportunity to shape how information is governed, reported, and used to support effective decision-making across the organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Strategy and PMO, you will play a key role in ensuring data is accurate, consistent, accessible, and fit for purpose throughout the project lifecycle.
What You’ll Be Doing- Develop, implement, and continuously improve information governance frameworks
- Prepare and present reliable data for operational, JV partner, and strategic board reporting
- Ensure reporting approaches and tools are aligned with client requirements and programme standards
- Embed best practice in information acquisition, management, governance, and lifecycle control
- Improve access to information and enable its effective reuse across the organisation
- Promote information quality, integrity, compliance, and risk awareness
- Maintain retention schedules and ensure statutory and regulatory compliance
- Monitor information management performance and report on compliance trends
- Support the Business Management System and contribute to BIM strategy development
- Work with project teams and partners to ensure data is exchanged effectively and in formats that support its intended use
- Experience managing large datasets and multiple data sources to produce accurate programme and project performance information
- Background in a similar information management, data, or reporting role within major infrastructure, construction, or regulated environments (water or utilities experience beneficial)
- Understanding of engineering design and project delivery
- Full UK driving licence (occasional travel within Scotland required)
- Strong experience using Power BI for dashboards, reporting, and data modelling
- Experience with information management platforms and Common Data Environments (CDEs)
- SQL and database experience beneficial
- Knowledge of data governance, information lifecycle management, and compliance requirements
- Promote collaborative working and effective knowledge sharing
- Champion best practice in how information is captured, managed, shared, and used
- Apply appropriate standards and policies for protecting and handling information
- Identify and manage information-related risks in line with governance frameworks
