Adoption Software Engineer – Authorisation and Forge Rock or Ping Identity

Location:
Glasgow, London, or Radbroke (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)

Contract Length: 6 Months

Rate: £700–£800 per day (PAYE only – plus 14.54% holiday pay)

Are you a driven Software Engineer with deep expertise in authorisation, cloud tech, and policy-as-code? Ready to make a tangible impact at scale?

We're looking for an Adoption Software Engineer to join a high-performing team working on a global-scale technology platform handling 24,000+ transactions per second. In this role, you’ll drive the adoption of modern software practices, with a sharp focus on policy enforcement, access control models, and cloud-native deployment strategies.

This is your chance to influence one of the most widely used platforms in the financial services sector — helping to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions for millions of users worldwide.

Your Day-to-Day

• Lead the adoption of advanced authorisation frameworks using policy-as-code (e.g. Styra OPA, OPAL)
• Work across the full stack – UI, backend, and data layers – in low-latency, high-throughput environments
• Guide containerisation efforts using Open Shift, Kubernetes, or similar platforms
• Support and optimise deployment across AWS (preferred), Azure, and hybrid/on-premise setups
• Shape best practices in RBAC, ABAC, and ReBAC implementation across engineering teams
• Use SQL and data insights to guide technical decisions
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive adoption of secure, scalable technologies

Must-Have Skills

• Forge Rock or Ping Identity experience – essential for integrating with enterprise-level authentication systems
• Strong engineering background in Java, with experience supporting large-scale, production-grade systems
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure – especially AWS
• Experience with policy-as-code tools and authorisation frameworks
• Proven track record in container orchestration and deployment automation
• Ability to take systems from development through to live support

Nice to Have

• Strong SQL and data analysis skills to support engineering design
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud/on-prem models and performance tuning
• Broad understanding of security and authentication protocols
