Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Overview

Glasgow — As a senior SRE, you would join our Hashi Vault squad as part of the strategy to offer more services and a better user experience to our clients. The current squad has been running for 4 years with team members from New York, Montreal and Glasgow. We are adding more engineers in EMEA and require an SRE to help us create the same culture of ownership and independence that exists in our current squad.

You will be working to implement new features, handle user requests and reduce repeatable tasks to free time for strategic initiatives. You will be a major driver of our push to Google Cloud, which is due to go live in 2026.

• Deliver Vault services to customers running in Google Cloud
• Support Engineering & Operational tasks for the Vault squad, including service delivery, automation, Dev Ops tasks and an on-call rota
• Collaborate with the Vault squad and wider Technology stakeholders to continuously improve our services through automation scripting and effective observability solutions
• Enforce adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines and usability design standards
• Onboard new tools to support business needs and integrate with the Morgan Stanley ecosystem
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews and Agile ceremonies to help deliver the best product
• Deliver knowledge sharing across the Vault squad & Data Protection chapter through documentation, presentations and internal postings

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes
• 7+ years of experience implementing technological solutions and managing applications and services in an enterprise environment
• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience of IaaC with Terraform
• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience of Helm
• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience of automation scripting languages such as Python or Bash
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Experience with Hashi Corp Vault
• Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD
• GCP certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Dev Ops Engineer, Professional Cloud Security Engineer
• Hashicorp certifications such as Terraform Associate, Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional, Vault Associate, or Vault Operations Professional
• Experience migrating application workloads into GCP and/or GKE
