Solution Architect

Summer-Browning Associates is currently supporting our Public Sector client, who is seeking a Solution Architect for an initial twelve-month assignment with the option to extend.
Location: Glasgow

The ideal candidate will have an active security clearance and a strong background in Technical/Solution Architecture.

The following skills and experiences are required:

• Experience in designing and implementing solutions on AWS and Azure, as well as optimising and automating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments for maximum security, performance, and cost-effectiveness. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
• Experience in defining, maintaining, and owning the technical strategy and roadmap for services.
• Knowledge of a broad range of industry-standard technologies, both proprietary and open source, across various Microsoft and Linux-based environments.
• Proven ability to lead technical design initiatives across all domains, including Data, Digital, Security, and Technical areas.
• A demonstrated track record of mentoring, coaching, and managing mid-level technical architects.
• Strong capability to guide technical teams, influence critical technical decisions, and identify transformative digital opportunities.
• Proficiency in Secure by Design principles and IT security documentation, including policies, standards, processes, procedures, and patterns.
• Familiarity with working in public sector or defence secure environments.
