Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub‑based people to be in the office at least once a week and to attend OVO Connection events in person.
You’ll be assigned to the closest of our three hub offices – Bristol, Glasgow or London – unless your role requires field‑based work. Each hub offers accessible spaces, a laptop‑friendly environment designed to inspire collaboration and creative thinking.
Team working for the planet:Everything we do here spins around Plan Zero. The team you’ll join plays a gigantic role in making that happen. We’re building and optimising credit‑risk and collections capability at OVO, focusing on reducing the bad‑debt charge and delivering good customer outcomes.
This role in a nutshell:Senior Credit Risk Analyst – Customer Operations & Balances. You will manage key debt‑prevention strategies, processes, analytics and MI that underpin Onboarding, Customer Management and Collections operations, enabling us to manage risk within our appetite and drive reductions to debt balances while increasing revenue.
You’ll provide data and insight that supports decision‑making across credit‑risk and collections landscapes to improve business performance and customer outcomes.
Your key outcomes will be:- Using SQL and Python to generate insights and lead initiatives that advance the department strategy and reduce portfolio risk.
- Building and maintaining Tableau and Looker dashboards to monitor trends, track performance against targets, and assess key performance indicators.
- Developing credit‑risk insights to identify optimisation opportunities, influence positive credit behaviours, and support decision‑making across all stages of the credit‑risk lifecycle.
- Designing and developing commercial and credit‑risk models, setting up A/B tests and conducting cost/benefit analysis to evaluate proposed solutions.
- Reducing manual effort and improving efficiency through automation and process optimisation.
- Solving business problems with a multidisciplinary approach and working in cross‑functional teams.
- Building and maintaining data pipelines to enable seamless data integration and accessibility.
- Supporting team growth through peer reviews, providing constructive feedback to junior members, and promoting best practices.
- Have proven and demonstrable experience in Credit Risk Analytics, Data Science or a similar analytical role, ideally within financial services, utilities or energy sectors.
- Are highly numerate and analytical, with the ability to dive into detail while maintaining a strategic perspective.
- Possess strong SQL skills and are confident working with complex datasets, ideally experienced using Python or R for analytics.
- Can confidently build, interpret and present meaningful data visualisations while making logical business recommendations.
- Are comfortable presenting analysis to senior management in an engaging way, with experience of working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Have a solid understanding of statistical concepts such as sampling, significance testing, hypothesis testing, linear/logistic regression and normal distribution.
- Experience using or developing Probability of Default (PD) models.
- Are diligent about documentation and version control, ensuring work can be understood and built upon by others.
- Have led collaborative sessions, such as meetings and workshops, to drive team alignment and decision‑making.
- Thrive in a fast‑paced environment, effectively managing shifting priorities.
- Understand core programming principles such as data types, lists, arrays, control flow and exception handling.
- Hands‑on experience with technologies such as Google Cloud, Big Query, Git Hub, Tableau and Looker.
Pay: £52,000 – £58,000, depending on your skills and experience, with an on‑target bonus of 15%.
