In this position, you will design and support scalable data platforms—including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes—ensuring that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.

Working at the heart of our cloud ecosystem, you’ll help enable decision‑making across the organisation while contributing to the reliability, performance, and innovation of our technology landscape.

Technical Skills Required
  • AWS (networking/compute/storage), ECS/Kubernetes/Open Shift, CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/Cloud Formation), and building highly available multi‑AZ systems
  • Databricks (Spark), Python/Spark development, large‑scale data pipelines, and workflow orchestration (Airflow)
  • SRE/Dev Ops practices, model deployment/monitoring, and considerable security/compliance (IAM, secrets management, PII protection)
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Exposure to data streaming and messaging systems such as Apache Kafka, and experience integrating streaming data pipelines with batch processing systems.
  • Familiarity with deploying and managing microservices and web applications (Java backends, React frontends) on container platforms (ECS, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., Postgre

SQL, Amazon RDS), including basic administration, performance tuning, and data backup/recovery strategies.
Core Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain data architecture pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
  • Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
  • Develop processing and analysis algorithms suited for the intended data complexity and volumes.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
Leadership Expectations
  • Advised and influenced decision making, contributed to policy development, and took responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborated closely with other functions/business divisions.
  • Led a team performing complex tasks, using well‑developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Set objectives and coached employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraised performance relative to objectives, and determined reward outcomes.
  • Demonstrated clear set of leadership behaviours to create an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver consistently excellent standards. The four LEAD behaviours are:
Listen and be authentic, Energise and inspire, Align across the enterprise, and Develop others.
  • When not in a people‑leadership role, guided collaborative assignments and supported team members through structured assignments, identified needs for inclusion of other specialisations to complete assignments, identified new directions for projects, and identified cross‑functional methodologies to meet required outcomes.
  • Consulted on complex issues; provided advice to people leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identified ways to mitigate risk and developed new policies/procedures in support of control and governance agenda.
  • Took ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Engaged in complex analysis of data from multiple sources, internal and external, to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicated complex information, including sensitive or difficult content or audience.
  • Influenced or convinced stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
