Role:
End User Support Technician — Glasgow
- Provide 2nd/3rd line desktop support for UK users, resolving incidents (including Priority One) and handling service requests from basic laptop builds to full IT relocations.
- Build and deploy desktops/laptops using SCCM and manual processes following standard procedures. Support smartphone deployment (iPhone and Android) and troubleshoot IT issues reported via the UK Service Desk.
- Work primarily 37 hours per week with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and on-call duties. Provide kiosk-based support at Glasgow sites to assist users with IT requests.
- Proven experience in IT support roles with direct, face-to-face user interaction.
- Strong fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Windows 10/11 desktop and laptop environments, Office applications, and preferably bespoke engineering applications.
- Confident communication skills to engage users at all levels, including senior VIPs, with resilience and professionalism.
- Team player comfortable collaborating with colleagues across multiple remote sites.
- Ability to prioritize, manage workloads, and handle tasks delegated by the central Service Desk.

- Hardware Installation/Troubleshooting

- Good knowledge of IP, WINS, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, etc.

Due to the nature of the work, this role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held; if not, the successful applicant must undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. To be eligible for full SC, residence in the UK for the last 5 years is generally required. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted with additional overseas checks.
