SC Cleared Automation Test Engineer

Automation Tester - Contract

Location:

Glasgow (3 days onsite)
Rate: £500 per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6-month contract
Clearance: DV or SC

We're looking for an experienced Automation Tester to join a fast-paced Agile team delivering high-quality digital solutions.

• Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts (UI, API, integration)
• Build and enhance automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress)
• Identify automation opportunities from user stories and acceptance criteria
• Execute automated tests within CI/CD pipelines
• Perform root cause analysis and collaborate on defect resolution
• Monitor pipelines, manage flaky tests, and report on quality metrics
• Contribute to sprint ceremonies, promoting quality and testability

• Strong experience with automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium)
• Programming skills in Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/Type Script
• API testing experience (Postman, Rest Assured, Karate)
• Knowledge of BDD/TDD (Cucumber, Spec Flow)
• CI/CD tools exposure (Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, Git Hub Actions)
• Familiarity with Git and Agile/Scrum delivery
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) and Docker/Kubernetes (desirable)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• 2-5+ years' automation testing experience (ISTQB advantageous)
