Requirements- Strong commercial experience in a Dev Ops Engineering role
- Expertise with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Azure Dev Ops or similar
- Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash, Power Shell, or similar
- Experience with containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes/Open Shift
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
- Strong understanding of Linux and distributed systems
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools
- Familiarity with security and compliance best practices within enterprise environments
- Previous experience within Financial Services or a highly regulated environment
- Exposure to SRE principles and observability tooling
- Experience supporting large‑scale, mission‑critical applications
- Design, implement, and support CI/CD pipelines
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
- Support cloud‑based and on‑premise environments
- Drive Dev Ops best practices across development teams
- Monitor and maintain platform performance, availability, and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and stakeholders to improve delivery processes

We are Barclays, hiring for a 6-month inside IR35 Dev Ops Engineer contract based in Glasgow, with Manchester or Northampton also considered. The role follows a hybrid working pattern with 2 days per week in the office and offers an opportunity to join a high‑performing technology team supporting critical applications and infrastructure across the bank. We operate in a large‑scale enterprise environment and are focused on automation, improving CI/CD processes, and advancing cloud‑native engineering practices.
You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure platforms that enable faster and more reliable software delivery.
