In this role you will be responsible for helping the business implement technology solutions in creating Data Products and ensuring the needs of our customers and colleagues by supporting and determining the requirements of a project or programme, communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partners. You will play a key role in supporting the communications between Group Control Data & Analytics team and the business, acting as a translator where necessary to convert Business Requirement to precise Data Requirements to support the needs of Data Products.
To be successful in the role of a Business Analyst for Data Products you should have:
- Ability to extract Data Requirement and prepare Business Requirement Doc (BRD), Functional Requirement (FR), Non-Functional Requirement (NFR).
- Excellent SQL Skills with Data Warehousing and Data Lake understanding.
- Understand Data Model, ETL Data Pipeline, Data Lineage.
- An understanding of Data Products, business analysis techniques, including requirement gathering, documentation, function design and process flows.
- Articulate your ideas, playing back the business needs in a language that can be easily understood while being able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Some other highly valued skills include:
- Understanding of Data Model, ETL Data Pipeline and Data Lineage. Ability to analyse large volumes of data and articulate findings.
- Good understanding of SDLC and Agile Delivery processes. Experience of how to own and manage Data Requirements from inception to sign off.
- Ability to do Feasibility Assessment with High level design thoughts and Structured documentations.

This role can be based in either Glasgow or Northampton.
Purpose of the roleTo support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.
Accountabilities- Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
- Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
- Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
- Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
- Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
- Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
- Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
- To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes
