We areseekingan experienced and forward-thinking Head of ITand Dev Ops  to lead the evolution of IES’s global technology estate.
This is a senior leadership role combining enterprise IT, modern Dev Ops practice,andcloud transformation. As with all technology leadership roles,it’sessential to incorporate emerging AI capabilities into the team’s work.

You will define and deliver technology strategy, modernise infrastructure and platforms, mature Dev Ops practices, and embed AI as a core enabler across theteam.

The role will play a critical part in transitioning IES away from traditional on-premises infrastructure,establishinga fully cloud-based,secureand scalable environment. You willsupportour ambition to become an AI-first organisation and will lead the effort to achieve that ambition within your own team

• Define and deliver an integrated IT and Dev Ops strategy aligned with IES’s business goals
• Lead global IT operations across ITSM, service desk, resilience, disasterrecoveryand monitoring
• Build and lead high-performing teams across IT,Dev Opsand Cloud
• Manage vendors, budgets, forecasting and Fin Ops to control costs and align spend with business priorities
• Lead the move from legacy data centres to a secure, scalable multi-cloud environment
• Embed Dev Ops best practices across engineering, championing automation, CI/CDand cloud-native delivery
• Oversee infrastructure, cloud, networkarchitectureand platform strategy
• Embed cyber security, riskmanagementand secure-by-design principles across all services
• Manage compliance and audit activity, including ISO 27001 recertification, coordinating inputs and actions across multiple departments company-wide
• Partner with Product, Engineering and senior leadership to shape and deliver technology direction

• Senior leadership experience (C-suite
  -1 level) across IT, Dev Ops, and Cloud
• Strong experience leading large-scale cloud migrations and operating multi-cloud environments
• Deep expertise in Dev Ops practices including CI/CD, infrastructure automation and cloud-native architectures
• Proficiency in Azure Dev Ops with experience migrating to Git Hub
• Strong scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, Terraform)
• Solid background in Windows, Microsoft 365, and Linux administration, containerisation and orchestration technologies
• Proven experience leading cyber security, risk management and compliance (including ISO standards and Cyber Essentials Plus)
• Experience establishing and governing AI platforms, data engineering foundations and AI tooling at scale
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels

• Experience operating in highly regulated or security-conscious environments
• Exposure to AI observability, explainability and responsible AI tooling
• Experience supporting predominantly remote or hybrid work forces at scale
• Background working within software, technology or climate tech organisations
