What you'll doAs a Dev Ops Engineer, you’ll help develop and enhance automation patterns, pipelines and tools that support network and infrastructure services from concept through to operational support. Working closely with engineers, platform teams and service owners, you’ll build reusable automation, improve delivery efficiency and embed Dev Ops best practice across the engineering lifecycle.
You’ll also be:
Designing, building and maintaining network and infrastructure automation using modern Dev Ops practices
Delivering automation through code-based CI/CD pipelines, with Git Lab experience helping you hit the ground running
Applying infrastructure-as-code and network-as-code principles to create repeatable, controlled and auditable delivery patterns
Embedding security, compliance and risk controls into automation and pipeline design
Supporting automated change, incident and operational workflows, including Service Now integration where appropriate
Working with container platforms such as Open Shift or Kubernetes to support automation services and workloads
Exploring practical uses of AI-enabled tooling and workflows to improve operational efficiency, engineering productivity and service reliability
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for someone with hands-on engineering experience, a strong automation mindset and a solid understanding of enterprise networking. You’ll be comfortable working in a Dev Ops environment where quality, security and operational resilience are built into every stage of delivery. You’ll also bring experience of network automation within large-scale financial services or other regulated environments.
You'll also need experience using AI-enabled tooling to improve engineering outcomes, and scripting capability in Python and Shell for automation workflows, integrations and operational tooling, along with hands-on experience with Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform for network and infrastructure automation ’ll also demonstrate:
Experience delivering automation through code-based CI/CD pipelines, with knowledge of Git Lab, Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops or similar platforms
Solid understanding of enterprise networking concepts, including DNS, LDAP, load balancing and traffic management
Ability to embed security practices into CI/CD pipelines so changes are compliant, auditable and risk-aware.
Familiarity with Service Now or similar IT service management tooling for change, incident and workflow automation
Experience with Open Shift, Kubernetes or similar container for deployment and workload management Hours
