The role

The Service Resilience Lead is a retained ITSM role within a SIAM Hybrid model, overseeing service resilience, continuity and recovery across the service ecosystem, with a focus on business critical services and their dependencies.

The role does not own day to day continuity or recovery activity. Operational coordination remains with the Service Integrator, Service Owners and service providers, while this role assures that the required capabilities, evidence, controls, improvement actions and CSDM-aligned service information are in place and operating effectively.

As the retained service management focal point for resilience and continuity assurance, the role gives senior stakeholders confidence that continuity obligations are understood, resilience requirements are embedded across the service lifecycle, risks are visible and accountable owners are progressing improvements, including assurance of disaster recovery planning and execution.

You will
  • Provide oversight and challenge where resilience or continuity risks, dependencies, vulnerabilities and control gaps affect business critical services, escalating through appropriate governance forums and assuring risk acceptance, remediation ownership and decisions are documented and tracked by accountable owners.
  • Assure that service resilience and continuity standards, controls and criteria are understood and applied across the service ecosystem.
  • Provide oversight and challenge of resilience and continuity risks affecting business-critical services, ensuring escalation, ownership and decisions are documented and tracked including regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee recovery objectives and minimum service levels for critical services, challenging evidence through retained assurance activities without taking ownership of operational delivery.
  • Assure that continuity and disaster recovery plans align to the agreed critical service landscape, including assurance over planning and execution delivered by accountable teams.
You have
  • A strong understanding of IT services and how service resilience, continuity and recoverability protect critical business outcomes.
  • Experience operating in SIAM, multi-supplier or outsourced environments, with an understanding of how resilience responsibilities are governed across Service Owners, the Service Integrator and service providers.
  • Knowledge of CSDM-aligned service information, service dependency mapping and critical service identification, and how these support resilience planning, prioritisation and assurance.
  • Awareness of regulatory, audit and risk expectations relating to operational resilience, business continuity and technology service recoverability in an enterprise environment.
  • Working knowledge of business continuity plans, resilience testing, disaster recovery plans and recovery objectives, including how these are evidenced, challenged and reported through governance forums
