VIQU are partnering with a leading global professional services organisation looking to appoint a Senior Cyber Security Analyst on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a senior hands‑on security role combining complex incident response, threat monitoring and security control assurance with the opportunity to act as a technical SME for the wider cyber security team. You’ll work closely with technical and business stakeholders, help strengthen the organisation’s security posture and support the development of junior analysts.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Cyber Security Analyst:- Oversee security monitoring activities, using SIEM and other security technologies to identify, investigate and prioritise potential threats and incidents.
- Lead investigations into complex or high‑impact security incidents, coordinating containment, root cause analysis, remediation and lessons learned.
- Perform in-depth analysis of security logs, network traffic and threat intelligence to identify suspicious patterns, anomalies and emerging threats.
- Lead security control testing, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing and security assessments, working with relevant teams to address identified weaknesses.
- Provide technical security guidance to IT teams, system administrators, developers and wider stakeholders when introducing or changing systems and technologies.
- Act as a cyber security SME for the analyst team, supporting workload prioritisation, BAU activities, security initiatives and the mentoring of junior team members.
- Maintain high-quality security documentation and reporting, supporting alignment with internal security standards, ISO 27001 and wider regulatory requirements.
- Strong experience within Cyber Security and/or IT, with the technical depth required to operate at a senior analyst or SME level.
- Hands‑on knowledge of security technologies including SIEM, firewalls, DLP and endpoint detection/protection technologies.
- Strong understanding of security incident management, threat analysis and the practical application of cyber security tools.
- Experience working with security metrics, KPIs and SLAs, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, global environment across multiple time zones.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Azure Dev Ops and ITSM platforms including Service Now or Cherwell would be beneficial.
- Cyber Security qualifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+ or CISSP are desirable rather than essential.
