Senior Data Analyst

We believe in bold ideas, diverse perspectives, and the drive to transform knowledge into impact. Here, your curiosity fuels progress, your voice shapes innovation, and your ambition helps redefine what’s possible within science and learning. We are a culture that obsesses over impact, challenges, and drives what’s next to power infinite possibilities for our customers, colleagues and society ut the Role:

We're looking for a Data Analyst to join our Marketing Data, Analytics, and Reporting team, turning campaign and business data into insight that shapes how we invest in marketing across our publishing business. This isn't a role where you run a query and hand over a chart — we need someone who investigates properly, owns the accuracy of what they deliver, and can stand behind their findings in front of a stakeholder.

How you'll make an impact

Write and maintain SQL in Big Query , extracting and reconciling data across multiple campaign and CRM sources. Schema checks before you query, sanity checks before you scale — we'd rather you catch an issue early than ship a confident wrong answer.

Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to a first-pass standard: sources cited, methodology stated, limitations flagged, headline framed in business terms — so review cycles are about stakeholder scope changes, not fixing your own work.

When something doesn't add up, dig until you find the actual root cause rather than stopping at the first plausible explanation — join mismatches,
-format inconsistencies, and ingestion gaps are things you're expected to trace back to source, not work around.

Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, framed around the decision they enable rather than just the numbers — and be comfortable fielding live questions on your own analysis, without needing a manager in the room.

Work with real autonomy within your remit: make reasoned calls on routine judgement decisions, document your reasoning, and move forward — while knowing when something is a genuine blocker worth raising early rather than letting it sit.

We're looking for people who:2+ years' experience as a Data Analyst, writing complex SQL against large, multi-table datasets.

A naturally investigative mindset — comfortable tracing a discrepancy back through several joins and data sources rather than accepting the first answer that looks right.

Strong communication skills: able to translate a technical finding into something a non-technical stakeholder can act on, and to defend it under questioning.

Proficiency with Power BI or a similar visualisation tool.

Experience with Big Query or another cloud data warehouse is highly desirable.

Familiarity with Python is a plus.

Genuine interest in academic publishing and marketing measurement is an advantage.

We power infinite possibilities.

For more than 200 years, we've transformed knowledge into discoveries that shape the world. Today, our global team of innovators, creators, and experts is driving what's next in science, education, and publishing—creating impact that reaches everywhere.

We're not just observers of progress. We're the ones accelerating scientific breakthroughs, advancing learning, and sparking innovation that redefines entire fields and improves lives.

Here, your talent matters. Your ideas have room to grow. And your work creates breakthroughs that can change everything.
