How

You Will Create An Impact

A Property Underwriter in our P&C team, you will develop risk transfer solutions for mid to large corporate property clients broked in the UK Regions. This role is a unique opportunity to join a high performing team and contribute to a growth area of the business with significant scope to influence and develop AIG’s property portfolio in the North.

Responsibilities
  • This role will focus on underwriting new and renewal business to help drive the profitable growth of our Commercial Property Product but as a P&C Underwriter by working on creative solutions for multi-line mid-market risks.
  • Assist in the development of our middle market portfolio; build visibility with brokers and clients.
  • Work cross functionally with other areas in AIG to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Work within agreed decision-making standards, limitations, authorities, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Achieve satisfactory ratings on all underwriting quality reviews.
  • Ensure all corporate service standards are maintained to both brokers & internal colleagues.
  • Support the culture of continuous improvement in all areas including improving processes to make the business more efficient and creating an environment where people are encouraged to take initiative and responsibility.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • Commercial property underwriting experience combined with technical insurance knowledge.
  • A desire to develop your property underwriting technical capability, including in relation to reinsurance and multinational insurance programmes
  • Experience working with regional brokers and a desire to proactively expand your broker network
  • Ability to understand policy wordings
  • Experience and comfort working in a multi-stakeholder, collaborative environment
  • Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment as a key contributor to the development of AIG’s Regional property portfolio in the North
