This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the start of their career, whether you’re a recent graduate or have already gained some relevant professional experience and are ready to start and build a career in corporate insurance within a major infrastructure and energy business.

The role sits within SSEs Group Insurance team, which supports all parts of SSE by arranging insurance protection, advising on risk transfer, supporting major projects and managing claims across a diverse portfolio of generation, networks, storage, corporate and joint venture activities.

As an Insurance Analyst, you will work with experienced insurance professionals and senior stakeholders across SSE. With support and training, you will help the team to:

• Support the placement and management of insurance programmes that protect SSEs people, assets, construction projects and business operations.
• Help provide insurance advice to business units, projects and joint ventures so that insurance requirements are understood and managed effectively.
• Assist with policy administration, premium invoicing, insurance data, governance processes and accurate record keeping across the Group Insurance function.
• Review contracts, insurance clauses and policy documents, helping to identify key obligations, coverage issues and areas where specialist input is required.
• Support the management of claims, loss information, surveys and risk engineering activity across SSEs operational and construction portfolio.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, digitalisation and reporting initiatives that help Group Insurance deliver a more efficient, consistent and insight-led service.
• Build relationships with colleagues, brokers, insurers and other external advisers, developing an understanding of the insurance market and how it supports major energy and infrastructure investment.

• Curiosity, strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn about insurance, risk, contracts and the energy sector.
• A commercially minded, organised and solution-focused approach, with good attention to detail.
• Confidence communicating with different stakeholders and the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Good written and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret information clearly and present it in a practical way.
• A degree in law, business, finance, risk management, economics, engineering or another relevant discipline. Previous insurance experience is welcome but not essential.
• Flexibility to travel occasionally to SSE sites, offices or third-party locations in the UK and, where required, internationally.

Our investment plan will see SSE invest £33bn in critical electricity infrastructure to 2030.
