We are working with a leading UK law firm to recruit a Senior Compliance Lawyer to join their established in-house risk team.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the General Counsel and senior management team, supporting the firm across the full spectrum of risk and compliance matters. This is a broad, high‑level position offering exposure to all areas of regulatory compliance, professional standards, and governance within a respected and forward‑thinking firm.

The firm is looking for a qualified solicitor (Scotland or England & Wales) with experience in law firm risk and compliance or a related regulatory environment. Senior‑level experience within a law firm compliance or governance role would be particularly valuable.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the ongoing development of the firm’s risk management systems and controls
• Advising on client engagement terms, outside counsel guidelines, and related documentation
• Reviewing potential conflicts of interest and advising on appropriate resolutions
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supplier contracts
• Developing and updating internal policies and procedures to reflect regulatory change
• Delivering training and guidance on professional standards and compliance issues
• Advising on day‑to‑day risk and ethical queries across the firm

The ideal candidate will have strong drafting and communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders. You’ll be commercially aware, pragmatic, and comfortable operating both strategically and hands‑on within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
