We are hiring a Lead Employment Counsel, Europe to take ownership of employment law across Europe. This is a senior, high-impact role combining deep legal expertise, regional leadership, and close partnership with the business in a fast-growing, international environment.
The role reports to the Associate General Counsel and plays a critical part in shaping Atlas’s European employment law strategy and execution.
The OpportunityAs Lead Employment Counsel, Europe, you will be the senior employment law authority for the region
, responsible for guiding Atlas through complex and evolving employment frameworks while enabling scalable, compliant growth.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Legal & Compliance, Operations, Sales, and People & Culture, and will regularly advise on sensitive, high-impact employment matters affecting both Atlas’s internal operations and its clients.

- Serve as the regional lead for European employment law
, advising across the full employee lifecycle including hiring, working time, leave and accommodations, restructurings, transfers of employment, and terminations. - Own and continuously evolve Atlas’s European employment law framework
, ensuring it supports a multi-country EOR operating model while managing legal and regulatory risk. - Draft, review, and maintain employment agreements, transfer documentation, and separation agreements across multiple European jurisdictions.
- Monitor, interpret, and anticipate employment law developments across Europe (including TUPE / Acquired Rights, Working Time, pay transparency, and collective obligations), translating regulatory change into clear, practical guidance.
- Strategically manage and partner with external counsel across jurisdictions, balancing legal risk, cost, and business outcomes.
- Partner with internal teams to design and deliver practical legal training for internal stakeholders and client-facing teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders
, contributing to decision-making in a high-growth, regulated environment. - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of employment lawyers and legal professionals across geographies.
- Collaborate closely with global Legal & Compliance colleagues to align European practices with global standards.
- 8+ years’ experience practising employment law, with significant exposure to European or multi-country matters
. - Strong experience advising in an in-house environment
, ideally within a global, matrixed organisation (tech, SaaS, EOR, or multinational experience preferred). - Deep working knowledge of European employment frameworks, including the EU Acquired Rights Directive, Working Time Directive, and pay transparency obligations.
