Yard Operative

At Allied Vehicles we design, develop, and manufacture a wide range of specialist vehicles, including wheelchair accessible vehicles, taxis, and minibuses.

In addition to manufacturing vehicles, we also offer a range of aftersales services (onsite and mobile), including servicing, repairs and maintenance, and we are Scotland’s largest independent parts distributor.

Hours of work:
Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm.

Salary: £13.45 per hour plus bonus.

Role

Summary:

• Oversee the safe and efficient movement, inspection and storage of vehicles within the yard.
• Ensure all arriving vehicles are checked for damage, accurately recorded and parked in designated storage areas to support smooth operational flow.

• Receive vehicles from suppliers safely and in a controlled manner.
• Prepare and issue vehicles for inspection and valet as specified by the schedule, meeting KPI.
• Verify that all received vehicles are undamaged and that everything ordered is present and accounted for; record any significant damage.
• Control delivery and collection of vehicles, ensuring outgoing product is inspected and placed on transporter clean and damage‑free.

• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Good communication and people skills.
• Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
