NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This integrated role presents an exciting opportunity to join the Finance management team of GCHSCP. The role will be responsible for the coordination of the preparation of annual estimates, annual accounts and financial performance reporting to partner bodies within Glasgow City HSCP and leading on the IJB Property Strategy.
Shift pattern - Monday - Friday 9-5
This will be achieved by providing expertise and advice on essential financial management information, including strategic, operational finance and governance matters to the senior management team in a time critical manner. As Head of Finance, you will investigate and advise on highly complex issues and lead on corporate reporting/providing strategic financial and business planning advice.
The role is critical in initiating and developing clear outcomes for the business‑critical issues facing the HSCP including the development of business cases service redesign and financial risk management.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a finance related subject (or equivalent) and be a member of the CCAB, CIMA (or overseas equivalent). It will be advantageous if you also hold a management qualification and have experience of working at a senior level in a political environment within health service and/or local authority.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week
. Part time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
