The Role
Our client is a leading UK electricity transmission owner undergoing a period of significant and sustained growth. As part of their continued investment in the national energy network, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their Offshore Delivery team.
This position will take full responsibility for the execution‑phase delivery of a major civil and building package valued at £500m+, forming a critical element of a nationally significant HVDC infrastructure programme. It is a site‑focused leadership role requiring strong commercial discipline, robust project controls capability, and the ability to manage complex interfaces within a live, multi‑package environment.
You will- Champion safety as the first priority, ensuring all works are delivered in line with the organisation’s Safety Licence and Safety Golden Rules – “If it’s not safe, we don’t do it.”
- Lead the delivery of a £500m+ civil and building package, including full oversight and performance management of the principal delivery contractor.
- Take full accountability for NEC3 contract management, including early warnings, compensation events, change control, and interface management.
- Own and refine the package programme through pre‑construction and execution, working collaboratively with the contractor to maintain schedule integrity and delivery performance.
- Motivate, support, and develop project teams in line with organisational values, ensuring delivery is safe, on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
- Proven experience leading teams to deliver large civil engineering or infrastructure projects (£100m+) through the execution phase.
- Experience working on HVDC converter stations or similarly complex mission‑critical facilities (desirable but not essential).
- Strong, demonstrable NEC3 contract management experience, including negotiation, administration, and leadership on complex contractual matters.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively across multiple stakeholders and delivery partners.
- A strong understanding of project management systems, controls, and governance for large, regulated infrastructure programmes.
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, construction, or project management.
