AECOM is seeking a Water Group Director to lead our Water business across New Zealand, balancing client engagement, project oversight, and team leadership.
We work with clients across the entire project life cycle, delivering projects safely and sustainably under various delivery options.
Job DescriptionAs Group Director, you will lead a diverse portfolio of water and geotechnical projects throughout Australia, New Zealand, and internationally, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and exceeding client expectations.

- Inspire and develop your team, fostering a collaborative culture that prioritizes growth and excellence.
- Drive AECOM’s reputation as a leading consultant on Water projects, solving complex client challenges and maintaining client satisfaction.
- Build strong relationships with current and prospective clients to generate revenue growth.
- Model collaborative, innovative, and result‑focused behaviours, fostering psychological safety for all team members.
- Proven leader with a strong background in water and geotechnical engineering.
- Excellent client management skills with clear communication of complex concepts.
- Focus on team development and internal collaboration to drive success.
- Visionary mindset to shape the future of the water and geotechnical business across New Zealand.
- Extensive experience leading business performance and owning a P&L across a broad range of projects.
- Track record in building high‑performing teams, driving change, and expanding capability and capacity.
- Collaborative leader who builds effective relationships with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders, contributing to the regional leadership team.
- Forward‑thinking, embrace change, and implement cutting‑edge digital technology.
