As customers transition to lower‑carbon, smarter and more connected homes, we’re transforming how we serve them — creating new products, services and business models that support a more sustainable energy future.
The Role
As a Transformation Director

Key accountabilities:
- Partner with senior business leaders to turn strategic ambitions into clear, achievable transformation plans.
- Lead large‑scale, complex transformation programmes and portfolios from design through to delivery, ensuring outcomes across scope, cost, quality and benefits.
- Harness digital, data, automation and AI to accelerate transformation and improve performance; champion innovative, insight‑led approaches.
- Provide governance and assurance, partnering with the TMO to prioritise and sequence delivery activity, ensuring visibility of progress, risks, dependencies and benefits.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, build trust with executive stakeholders, resolve competing priorities, and create clarity across transformation portfolios.
- Ensure transformations are delivered responsibly and sustainably, managing regulatory, operational and delivery risks, embedding ESG considerations.
- Lead high‑performing teams, foster culture change, and build capability, encouraging collaboration and shared ownership of outcomes.
- Significant experience leading large‑scale transformation programmes or portfolios (£50m–£200m+).
- Strong understanding of the energy transition and its implications, including low‑carbon technologies, smart home solutions, electrification, energy flexibility and digital services.
- Proven experience partnering with Executive and Board‑level stakeholders.
- Strong background in programme delivery, governance and change management.
- Commercial mindset, translating strategy into measurable business outcomes.
- Experience leading digital, data and technology‑enabled transformation, including automation, analytics and AI.
- Deep understanding of workforce planning, organisational capability and skills development.
- Experience operating within regulated environments, managing governance, compliance and risk.
- Track record of delivering cultural change and embedding new working ways.
- Comfortable leading through complexity and ambiguity while maintaining delivery focus.
- Degree qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Knowledge of programme and project management methodologies such as Agile, MSP, PRINCE2 or Lean.
- Relevant professional qualifications in programme delivery, change, digital, data or risk management are advantageous.
