The Acute Division, within which the South Sector sits, delivers a significant proportion of NHSGGC’s healthcare.
Position:Chief Allied Health Professional – South Sector
This appointment will be accountable for both the strategic and operational delivery and development of AHP services in the South Sector. It is vital for NHSGGC and the South Sector to deliver better care, better health, better workplace and better value.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic leadership and operational management of AHP services.
- Implement, achieve and deliver business and clinical performance targets in line with local, regional and national objectives.
- Provide operational support to the Director for efficient delivery of safe patient care, clinical governance and performance standards.
- Direct line‑management of team leads within the service area.
- Collaborate across services and boundaries to develop a whole‑system approach.
- Maintain professional leadership, development, standards and clinical service delivery for all Allied Health Professionals in the South Sector.
- Develop and maintain key relationships with General Managers, Clinical Service Managers, Lead Nurses, Clinical Directors and Lead Clinicians.
- Extensive AHP leadership experience at a senior level in a complex healthcare or equivalent environment.
- Demonstrated experience in operational management and service delivery.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to work at pace across a range of complex services.
- Experience at senior management/Board level in a large NHS/Health and Social Care organisation.
- Robust understanding of the role of AHPs in delivering safe service and experience of partnership working to enact effective change.
- Evidence of leading service improvement work.
- Resilience, political acumen, strategic vision, tactical skills and strong leadership qualities.
- Good general management experience and a proven performance culture of achievement and patient care.
Shortlisted candidates will undergo a pre‑interview assessment phase that may include written exercise, psychometric assessment and/or a peer review panel.
