Job Summary

We are looking for a Transitions Team Manager to lead a highly skilled team supporting the transition of new Pension Risk Transfer business into L&G. The role involves managing a team of managers, consultants and data analysts, working with Transition Directors, the Head of Transitions and wider Client Service teams to deliver smooth, high‑standard scheme transitions within agreed timescales and with strong customer outcomes.

This is a hybrid working opportunity that allows you to work flexibly between home and the office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading, coaching and developing a high‑performing Transitions team.
  • Supporting the delivery of new PRT scheme transitions from onboarding through to successful handover.
  • Working with Transition Directors and wider Client Service teams to manage client requirements and expectations.
  • Overseeing scheme project management, customer updates, data validation and scheme documentation.
  • Managing team priorities, capacity and performance to meet service levels and contractual obligations.
  • Supporting the Head of Transitions with strategy, planning and operational readiness.
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes, systems and ways of working.
  • Identifying operational risks and working with relevant teams to create effective mitigation plans.
Qualifications
  • Pensions qualification such as PMI or CII, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Strong understanding of Defined Benefit pension schemes/Pension Risk Transfer.
  • Proven experience of leading, coaching and developing teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence and ability to influence others across different business areas.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience improving processes and supporting change in an operational environment.
  • A customer‑focused approach, with a commitment to good customer outcomes and high‑quality service delivery.
