Commercial Manager - Major Defence Infrastructure Programme, Glasgow | Hybrid Working (Minimum 3 Days On Site), 52-week contract, Inside IR35, £70.00-£87.00 per hour Umbrella.
Role summaryDrive commercial success on a high-profile defence programme. The Commercial Manager will provide commercial leadership across the contract lifecycle, ensuring robust contract administration, effective risk management, and delivery against programme objectives. Work with project teams, supply chain partners and key stakeholders to maximise commercial value while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
Responsibilities- Lead the commercial management of major engineering and infrastructure contracts.
- Administer NEC4 contracts, with a particular focus on NEC4 Professional Services Contract (PSC).
- Manage compensation events, change control and contractual correspondence.
- Provide commercial advice to project teams and senior stakeholders.
- Monitor costs, forecasts and commercial performance.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
- Support negotiations with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure commercial governance and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager on major infrastructure, defence, nuclear or other highly regulated projects.
- Extensive working knowledge of NEC4 contracts, ideally including the Professional Services Contract (PSC).
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing change, risk and contract administration.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
