The Vacancy
Our Third Party Administration (TPA) department is a dynamic administration team with a varied portfolio of clients. The team plays a key role in delivering a market-leading service to clients and members across Defined Benefit (DB), Defined Contribution (DC) and CARE pension arrangements. An exciting opportunity is available to join this department as a Administration Manager within the Client Services team in Birmingham, Edinburgh or Glasgow.
Whatwill the role involve?
We're looking for a people-focused leader to manage a portfolio of TPA clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality administration services while driving client satisfaction, team performance and commercial success. Working closely with clients, trustees, advisers and internal stakeholders, you'll lead administration teams, build strong client relationships and support the delivery of our business objectives. This is an excellent opportunity to combine people leadership, client management and operational oversight in a role where you'll have a real impact on both client outcomes and team development.
Key Responsibilities Include- Managing a portfolio of TPA clients, building strong relationships and ensuring the delivery of high-quality administration services.
- Leading and developing administration teams, supporting performance, capability and service excellence.
- Overseeing client service delivery, ensuring service levels, quality standards and client expectations are consistently met.
- Managing client projects and annual service plans, including scheme events, regulatory changes and ad hoc initiatives.
- Acting as an escalation point for complex client issues, complaints and service matters, driving effective resolutions and continuous improvement.
- Taking responsibility for the commercial performance of client accounts, including profitability, fee reviews, billing and out-of-scope work.
- Supporting business development activities, including proposals, pitches and identifying opportunities to expand services.
- Providing technical expertise on complex pensions administration matters and ensuring services remain aligned with legislative and regulatory developments.
- Driving operational improvements, process efficiencies and best practice across administration services.
- Supporting recruitment, coaching and development activities, helping colleagues grow and succeed.
- Deputising for senior leaders when required and representing the team with clients and key stakeholders.
- Travelling to other Hymans Robertson offices and client locations as required.

What’s required to succeed in this role?- GCSE / Scottish Highers (or equivalent) in Maths and English, or equivalent relevant experience.
- A recognised professional qualification, or relevant pensions experience.
- Strong experience managing workflows, projects and service delivery within a Third Party Administration or similar environment.
- Good understanding of pensions legislation, administration best practice, service standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working collaboratively with pensioner payroll teams and wider stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness, with an understanding of client needs, service delivery and business objectives.
- Strong leadership skills, with a commitment to developing, supporting and empowering colleagues.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and gain stakeholder buy-in.
- A collaborative and inclusive approach, with a focus on teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Proactive in personal development and passionate about supporting the growth and success of others.
