THE ROLE:We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager, based out of our client HQ, to support the day-to-day delivery of our high-profile client security contract. This is a hands-on operational leadership role with responsibility for maintaining service delivery across a complex multi-site manned-guarding operation, leading teams, ensuring robust scheduling and supporting standards across the wider estate.
The successful candidate will work a 40-hour week and must be comfortable working flexibly across a 24/7 security operation. While based out of our client HQ, the role will require a mixture of days and nights where operationally necessary, together with visits to other sites as and when required.
- Take day-to-day operational responsibility for service delivery, with the role primarily based at Client HQ while maintaining appropriate oversight of the wider multi-site contract.
- Own and oversee scheduling and rostering, ensuring contractual hours are fully covered, staffing is appropriately allocated and dropped shifts are prevented.
- Maintain accurate rosters to minimise payroll queries and support accurate client invoicing.
- Visit sites across the wider contract as and when required, working closely with Site Ambassadors who undertake routine site visits and provide feedback on standards, compliance and operational issues.
- Work a flexible mixture of days and nights to provide effective operational oversight of a 24/7 service.
- Provide direct leadership, support and accountability to Team Leaders, supervisors and security teams across the contract.

- Ensure employees comply with Amulet policies, Assignment Instructions, contractual requirements and all relevant legal and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain a high level of operational control, identifying service risks early and taking prompt corrective action.
- Respond professionally to client queries, attend client meetings and support the completion and delivery of KPI reporting.
- Ensure Assignment Instructions, site documentation, operational records and customer information remain accurate and current.
- Support recruitment and workforce planning to ensure sufficient staffing and resilience across all sites.
- Identify training requirements and ensure employees remain competent, compliant and capable of delivering the required service.
- Support employee relations processes including absence management, performance management, investigations, grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Monitor operational performance, analyse trends and produce practical solutions to service delivery issues.
- Assist with the control of direct and indirect costs and support the efficient financial operation of the contract.
- Build strong working relationships with the client, employees and internal stakeholders while promoting Amulet’s values and service standards.
- Proven experience as a successful Operations Manager within the manned-guarding security industry, with a demonstrable track record of delivering strong operational performance.
- Demonstrable experience managing multi-site manned-guarding security operations; single-site management experience alone will not meet the requirement for this role.
- A strong and proven track record of delivering operational performance, maintaining service levels and successfully managing teams in a demanding environment.
- High level of security knowledge, including a strong understanding of security operations, risk, incident management, access control, CCTV, alarm monitoring and associated security systems.
- Strong scheduling and workforce management experience, with the ability to manage complex 24/7 rosters and respond effectively to short-notice operational requirements.
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible 40-hour week across a mixture of days and nights.
- Ability and willingness to travel from Client HQ to other contract sites as and when operationally required, and to work effectively with Site Ambassadors supporting site-level oversight.
- Strong leadership skills with the confidence to set standards, challenge poor performance and develop high-performing teams.
- Good working knowledge of HR and employment processes, including absence management, performance management, investigations, grievances and disciplinary procedures.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and employees at all levels.
