Plater​/Fabricators; Temporary

Position: Plater/ Fabricators (Temporary)
Marking - off materials.

· Assembling of ships structures, shell, decks, bulkheads, frames, & Longditudinals.

· Fit and fair steelwork using fairing aids

· Fabrication of ship items - seats, ladders, false flooring & panels etc.

· Outfitting Ships items, fitting of hatches, watertight doors, equipment seats & false flooring

· Forming Material using machine tools – Rolling, Flanging & Cutting Machines (guillotine, cropper & mechanical saw)

· Preparing ship for launch & ship sea trials, manufacture of launch slipway, shores, baton’s etc.

· Ship Docking, plate perpetration, using different methods (Oxy – fuel gas cutting & Hand Grinding), pressure testing, drilling & lock fitting

· Understanding of fabrication and installation drawings

· Understanding of manufacturing processes

· Clear understanding of SHE risk awareness

· Good knowledge of their specific trade

· Understanding of quality standards and work tolerances within the company

· Understanding of SHE risk awareness

· Hand skills required for assembly and fabrication purposes

· Coaching abilities, i.e. passing on knowledge to apprentices

· Good verbal communication skills

· Practical problem solving

· Safety certification i.e. SHE induction, COSHH awareness, working at height etc.
