EDM Engineer
As an EDM Engineer, you will set up and operate Spark Erosion and Wire Erosion machines to deliver high‑precision machining operations. You will play a key role in ensuring components are produced to exacting standards while supporting wider production needs.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate EDM machinery, including Spark and Wire Erosion equipment.
- Load raw materials and unload finished components safely and efficiently.
- Adjust machine settings to meet required tolerances and production specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings and work to customer‑defined tolerances.
- Follow all procedures, safety guidelines, operating standards, and process documentation.
- Maintain accurate logs of production activity, equipment issues, adjustments, and repairs.
- Conduct machine inspections to identify mechanical or safety concerns.
- Ensure machines are stocked with tooling and materials to minimise downtime.
- Maintain a strong safety focus, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Provide flexibility and support during peak production periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Effective communication and strong teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work consistently to defined processes.
- Time‑served EDM Engineer or equivalent experience.
- Hands‑on experience with Spark Erosion and Wire Erosion processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience producing precision components to high quality standards.
- Knowledge of manufacturing regulations, safety procedures, and best practices.
- £27.51per hour
- Full‑time, permanent role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a three‑shift rotation (early, back, and night).
