Industrial Painter
The Industrial Painter will support coating and production activities within the workshop environment, applying industrial coatings in line with customer requirements, following strict procedures, and supporting operational needs across working cells, including forklift activities, while fully complying with HSE, Quality, and company policies.
Responsibilities- Fully participate in the HSE Management Program and comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE Management System requirements, policies, and procedures within areas of responsibility.
- Read, understand, and interpret engineering and production documentation.
- Apply coatings per customer sales orders, completing surface preparation and final coating activities in accordance with requirements and safety rules.
- Complete all required production and quality documentation accurately.
- Check routings for accuracy and review procedures prior to commencing operations.
- Work within defined labor‑hour cycles for both direct and indirect activities.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work across different working cells to meet business requirements, including coating tasks and forklift operation.
- Engage with Baker Hughes Cultural Pillars and New Behaviours.
- Work strictly to approved procedures (DWI, FAT, EFAT, deviations, NCR scopes).
- Engage with project production visibility schedule boards.
- Maintain 6S standards, including workshop and paint store housekeeping at start and end of shifts.
- Adhere to SRA, PPE, and HRO requirements, including crane, forklift, MEWP, work‑at‑height, and scaffold tag compliance.
- Engage with HSE and Quality systems (Concern Reports, Quality Concerns, Stop Work processes).
- Participate in on‑site production improvement initiatives (YESS, CI).
- Ensure compliance with COSHH requirements and COSHH register controls.
- Ensure accurate Oracle vouchering to support correct PMR.
- Understand utilization and its impact on personal and business performance.
- Adhere to Kronos time and attendance requirements.
- Review future operational requirements, including paint and material needs.
- Maintain core and product competencies within the Baker Hughes competency cycle.
- Manage personal holiday entitlement and absence in line with company policy.
- Provide flexibility for holiday cover, overtime, and shift‑based training requirements.
- Complete all mandatory online training within required timelines (My Learning).
- Maintain competency records (CMS) throughout the year.
- Support the training and guidance of new coating technicians, apprentices, and contractors.
- Completed an apprenticeship in preparation and coating applications, or equivalent on‑the‑job training.
- Ideally hold NACE Level 1 or Level 2 certification.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience within an Oil & Gas industrial coating environment.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience or training in preparation and coating applications.
- Hold certifications for additional operational activities such as Forklift, Overhead Crane, MEWP, and Working at Height.
