Position: Manual Turner / Threadmill Operator

Job Description

D R Newitt's Engineering & Manufacturing Division is delighted to be partnering with a leading engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced Manual Turner for their established production facility in the Glasgow area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist to join a well-invested manufacturing environment, producing high-quality precision engineered components for a range of industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating manual turning and thread milling machinery
  • Machining components to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Deburring and finishing machined parts

    Carrying out quality inspections to ensure products meet required standards
  • Machine set-up and routine maintenance activities
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across production
  • Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient working environment
  • Assisting with training and knowledge sharing where required
About You
  • Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent manufacturing qualification
  • Proven experience operating manual turning machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and quality standards
  • Good numerical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with additional manual machining equipment would be advantageous
