Transmission Team Leader

Responsibilities

• Leading, coaching and developing a team of network design professionals
• Conducting performance reviews, regular 1:1s and supporting personal development plans
• Managing resource planning and forecasting to ensure delivery against business demand
• Overseeing network risk management and working closely with Operations teams to mitigate risks
• Driving technical input into RFIs, ITTs, business cases and infrastructure investment decisions
• Supporting innovation initiatives, new technologies and continuous improvement projects
• Making informed technical and operational decisions to support business objectives
• Ensuring high-quality network designs are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed standards
• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and external vendors
• Championing best practice, quality standards and operational excellence across the design function

• Proven experience in transmission network design, technical leadership or management roles
• Strong understanding of transmission technologies including: SDH, PDH, Microwave Radio, IP/Layer 3 Networks
• Experience working with vendor platforms such as Cisco, Nokia and Connection Master
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing technical teams
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Degree in Telecommunications, Management, IT or a related discipline (desirable)
• Professional experience within telecoms, utilities or network infrastructure environments (desirable)
