Job Title:
Sheet Metal Worker
Salary: £40,016 per annum + shift allowance + overtime
Location:
Glasgow
We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Sheet Metal Worker. The role will be based in Glasgow and will require the successful candidate to be on site full time working a varied shift pattern (see details below).
Shift Hours- Day Shift: Monday‑Thursday 7:00am – 4:30pm
- Night Shift: Monday‑Thursday 8:30pm – 6:00am
- Weekend Shift: Friday‑Sunday 7:00am – 7:30pm (includes 33% shift allowance)
- Manufacture and install high quality sheet metal components, including ventilation systems and internal fittings.
- Interpret engineering drawings to measure, cut, shape and assemble materials using a range of hand and power tools.
- Produce accurate, well‑finished work that meets required standards and quality expectations.
- Apply practical problem‑solving skills to resolve issues during manufacturing and installation, ensuring correct fit and safe completion.
- Work collaboratively within a skilled team to maintain a safe environment and deliver reliable installations that keep projects on track.

- Hold a recognised Modern Apprenticeship, Trade Papers, or SVQ/NVQ Level3 qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering or technical discipline.
- Previous experience gained within construction, manufacturing, marine, defence, or similar engineering environments.
- Good understanding of SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) and COSHH requirements, with the ability to follow safe systems of work and site safety procedures.
- Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation to accurately measure, cut, shape and assemble components.
- Strong practical engineering and craftsmanship skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Capable of producing high‑quality work within regulated and safety‑critical environments.
- You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and therefore must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years.
