Turner​/Miller machinist

This is a full time, on-site Turner/miller machinist role based in Glasgow.

The candidate will set up and operate manual lathes and milling machines, we also have some CNC machines which would be a benefit to operate although training will be provided on CNC.

Responsibilities include selecting appropriate tools, measuring and checking work using gauges and other instruments, ensuring dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and job sheets.

The role involves routine maintenance of machines, safe handling of materials and collaboration with fellow team members of the machine workshop and also the fabrication workshop to meet customer deadlines.

You will also contribute to continuous improvement in machining processes, maintain a clean and safe work area and support occasional urgent jobs to meet company quick turnaround commitments.
