Overview
Retention Strategist at Common Thread Collective (CTC). This role leads retention marketing efforts to deliver predictable revenue, guiding clients with data-backed forecasts and strategic direction. You will partner with clients on customer retention across channels (email, SMS, direct mail, etc.), communicating rationale and connecting forecasts to the campaigns executed. You are a champion of CTC’s approach to retention and its tools, and you lead initiatives with precision and impact.
Responsibilities- Own retention marketing initiatives to drive predictable revenue and improve customer lifetime value.
- Build forecasts using data-backed insights; shape strategic direction and ensure consistent performance delivery.
- Serve as a key partner to clients on Customer Retention, connecting forecasts to emails/SMS/direct mail, etc.
- Communicate rationale behind approaches to build client confidence and trust.
- Lead with a high standard of execution and effectiveness; thrive in challenging, high-performance marketing environments.
- Collaborate with Growth Strategists, Media Buyers, Designers, and Copywriters to deliver aligned retention programs.
- Monitor campaigns, deploy resources, and adjust strategies to hit projected targets; implement tests to improve campaigns.
- Maintain data integrity across tools (e.g., Statlas, Growth Map) and ensure timely reporting to clients.
- Uphold quality standards, ensure on-brand deliverables, and align with forecasts and client expectations.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients to foster ongoing growth and satisfaction.
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in email and SMS marketing, with proven execution across campaigns, automations, segmentation, and optimization.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in retention marketing, owning initiatives that drive predictable revenue and lifecycle improvements.
- At least 3 years of experience in a marketing agency, with client-facing responsibilities in fast-paced environments.
- Successful kickoff and onboarding; ability to absorb information quickly and apply learnings.
- Deliver high-quality work on time; communicate progress and updates clearly to clients and team.
- Proactive problem solving with data-driven insights; maintain strong client relationships.
- Consistently meet or exceed KPIs and forecasted targets; uphold quality standards across all work.
- Salary progression:
First 30 days – $1.5K (Part-time transition);
Days 31–60 – $3K (Full-time);
Days 61–90 – $4–5K + performance bonuses. Actual figures depend on client load and performance. - Growth model emphasizes transparency, regular performance dashboards, and defined advancement paths.
