We currently have employees working across four nations in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we’re in a privileged position to be able to deliver our ambitious new strategy, On a Mission. There are huge challenges facing bowel cancer patients across the UK and our community needs us now more than ever. We’re building a strong and united team to bring us closer to a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer.

Job Summary

The Social Media Officer plays a key role in delivering the charity's digital presence, supporting the Social Media Manager to grow awareness, engagement and trust across all social platforms. You’ll help plan and deliver campaigns, create compelling content, and nurture meaningful conversations with our online communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day posting across the charity's social media channels (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, X, Tik Tok), ensuring content is timely, accurate and on brand
  • Act as a first point of contact for social media enquiries, responding with empathy, clarity and signposting to appropriate services when needed
  • Contribute creative ideas for new campaign approaches, formats and partnerships

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and at Bowel Cancer UK we are committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Successful candidates may be subject to either a satisfactory basic, standard or enhanced DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) dependent upon the role.
