The Role- The role of this post holder is to work within the nursing and multi‑professional team to ensure a high standard of care to a defined patient group. Competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care for this defined patient group
- In the absence of the department manager or deputy, provide cover to ensure effective operation of the department

- An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to work within Ward B, Older Adult General Rehabilitation, Stobhill ACH
- The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Sunday, day and night shift rotation
- The post holder will work 11.5 hour shifts
- To assess patient needs, plan/implement and evaluate a programme of care which is evidence based utilising all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensure involvement with the patient, family, carers and significant others
- To regularly undertake extended clinical practice i.e. venepuncture, cannulation, IV drug administration and other clinical practice specific to specialist area of work
- Maintain patient records in line with NMC guidelines for records and record keeping
- Provide clinical leadership/expert advice to junior nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team
- Empower patients to take responsibility for their health, well‑being and future lifestyle by practising in an open transparent and inclusive manner; thereby ensuring patients have the relevant information to participate in decisions about their care
- Promote and support innovation in clinical practice
- Contribute to the provision of an appropriate learning environment in line with NES Quality Placement Standards
- To undertake teaching of registered and non‑registered nursing staff, including basic and post‑basic students and participate in the implementation of staffpersonal development plans to facilitate ongoing development
- Ensures effective day‑to‑day management of other resources, including stores supplies, pharmacy and maintenance of equipment
- Manage a small team of nursing staff using both managerial and leadership skills
- Take charge of designated area within the department
- Supervise less experienced staff/students (including those from external agencies) who are providing care to patients and act as a source of advice to ensure their educational needs are being met
- In conjunction with the Senior Charge Nurse /Deputy ensure that the nursing resource is utilised efficiently and effectively by managing duty roster/ sickness absence and the use of additional hours i.e. bank agency
