The RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join our team within the respiratory ward 24 at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The post holder will be expected to ensure safe and effective care that enhances the patient experience. You will be able to demonstrate high professional standards of care and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
You will utilise a broad range of knowledge and skills in the assessment, planning and implementation of care for our patients.
As a registered nurse within medical specialties, you will have the support of a structured induction, ongoing education and development from our Clinical Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialists, and opportunities to develop your leadership and management skills. We are passionate about supporting the well‑being and development of our team.
You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern- Location based in Glasgow Royal Infirmary
- Part‑time position (28.37 hours per week)
- Permanent Contract
- Shift pattern for this post are rotational: days, nights and weekends
Please note the salary is pro rata for part‑time hours.
Key Responsibilities- To assess patient needs, plan/implement and evaluate a programme of care which is evidence based utilising all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensuring involvement with the patient, family, carers and significant others.
- Maintain patient records in line with NMC guidelines for records and record keeping.
- Practice within the legal & ethical framework as established by Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) and national legislation to ensure patient interests and welfare are met.
- Work within the National Health Service (NHS), NHS Greater Glasgow and Health & Safety Executive (HSE) legislation, policy, guidelines and procedures.
- Contribute to the provision of an appropriate learning environment in line with NES quality placement standards.
- Contribute to the clinical appraisal of pre‑registration nurses.
- Demonstrate own professional development.
- Support the implementation of research and clinical audit where appropriate.
- 1st / 2nd level Registered Nurse.
- Live valid NMC PIN.
- Ability to fulfil criteria outlined in the job description.
