Permanent, Full‑time
Base location – Glasgow Royal Infirmary
Shift Pattern – Monday to Saturday (long days) Twilight shift Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Key responsibilities:- Provide clinical leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence‑based patient care
- Deputise for the Senior Charge Nurse, coordinating the unit and leading the nursing team to deliver safe and effective care
- Supervise, support and develop nursing staff, promoting a positive and learning‑focused environment
- Ensure high standards of care, governance, infection prevention and control and compliance within the unit
- Manage resources effectively, including staffing, equipment and rota planning
- Maintain accurate patient records in line with NMC standards and organisational policies
- Contribute to audit, research, service improvement and the development of renal services
- First‑level Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Proven experience within renal nursing with competence in haemodialysis
- Evidence of leadership experience and ability to manage and develop a team
- Educated to degree level with ongoing professional development
- Excellent communication, decision‑making and organisational skills
- Knowledge of clinical governance, infection control, and NHS policies and procedures
- Ability to work flexibly and effectively within a fast‑paced and ever‑changing environment

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part‑time working hours will be reduced on a pro‑rated basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
