Neurology Clinical Nurse Specialist – Neurorehabilitation

Are you an experienced children’s nurse with a passion for delivering specialist care and improving outcomes for children and young people? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a dedicated Paediatric Neurology Clinical Nurse Specialist – Neurorehabilitation to join our highly regarded Paediatric Neurosciences team. This exciting role offers the opportunity to provide expert clinical leadership and support to children and young people with acquired brain injuries and spinal cord injuries, while working collaboratively with families, education services and multidisciplinary teams.

As part of NHSGGC, one of the largest NHS organisations in the UK, you will have the opportunity to influence service development, lead innovative practice and make a lasting difference to the lives of patients and their families across the West of Scotland.

You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
  • Part‑time, fixed‑term for 12 months
  • You will be based at The Royal Hospital for Children
  • Working Monday to Friday

Salary is pro rata for part‑time hours.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide specialist clinical care, advice and support for children and young people with acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury
  • Act as a case manager, coordinating complex care pathways from admission through to discharge and community reintegration
  • Develop and lead nurse‑led clinics, delivering assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing follow‑up care
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, community services, schools and external agencies to ensure seamless patient care
  • Deliver specialist education, training and support to healthcare professionals, patients, families and carers
  • Lead and participate in clinical audit, service improvement, research and evidence‑based practice initiatives
  • Provide clinical leadership and act as an expert resource within paediatric neurorehabilitation services
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
  • Registered Children’s Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Significant post‑registration experience within paediatric neurology or a related specialist field
  • Experience working at Clinical Nurse Specialist or senior level with responsibility for complex patient management
  • Strong clinical assessment, care planning and decision‑making skills within a specialist neurological setting
  • Evidence of leadership, service development, audit and quality improvement experience
  • Excellent communication, teaching and relationship‑building skills with the ability to support children, families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development with knowledge of evidence‑based practice, safeguarding and child protection processes
