The Role

Are you a compassionate Registered Nurse looking to make a meaningful difference within your local community? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a motivated Community Staff Nurse to join our Adult Nursing Services team, delivering high-quality care to patients in their own homes and community settings. You'll care for patients with a wide range of complex nursing needs, building lasting relationships with patients, families and carers. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • New Victoria Hospital
  • Fixed-term for 12 months, part-time
  • Four 4-hour shifts per week, 17:30 to 21:30
  • Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver skilled nursing care to patients within the community as part of an integrated district nursing team
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised programmes of care in partnership with patients and families
  • Manage and prioritise your workload effectively to meet both planned and urgent patient needs
  • Support patients, carers and families to achieve optimum health, wellbeing and independence
  • Undertake a range of clinical interventions including wound care, catheter management, medication administration and long-term condition management
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure care is delivered in line with professional standards, policies and guidelines
  • Contribute to service improvement, clinical audit, student support and the development of junior team members

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC Part 1 Registration or 2nd Level Registration with General Nursing experience
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development and NMC Revalidation
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships
  • Experience of delivering patient-centred care within nursing or community healthcare settings
  • Good IT skills including the use of email, electronic records and digital systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating leadership, initiative and problem-solving skills
