NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a dedicated TB Nurse Specialist to join our Public Health Protection Team. This is a highly rewarding and autonomous specialist role where you will provide expert care and support to people affected by Tuberculosis, lead public health interventions, and help prevent the spread of infection across Scotland's largest Health Board.
Working across hospital and community settings, you will build meaningful relationships with patients and partners while contributing to service improvement, education, and public health protection. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:- West House, Gartnavel Royal Hospital
- Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00
- Permanent, full-time
- Deliver specialist nursing care and case management for patients diagnosed with Tuberculosis across hospital and community settings
- Provide ongoing assessment, support, monitoring and treatment supervision to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes
- Lead contact tracing, screening programmes and public health interventions to identify and manage individuals exposed to TB
- Assess risks to patients and the wider public, making informed autonomous decisions and referrals to appropriate specialist services
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with multidisciplinary teams, external agencies, educational establishments and community organisations
- Design, deliver and evaluate specialist education and training programmes relating to Tuberculosis, screening and immunisation practices
- Lead and contribute to service development, policy implementation, audit, research activities and quality improvement initiatives
- First Level Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Significant post-registration experience, including experience working at a senior nurse level
- Educated to Master's degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience
- Extensive clinical knowledge and practical experience in Tuberculosis management, contact tracing and screening programmes
- Comprehensive understanding of current TB guidance, including NICE, BTS and relevant public health legislation
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, colleagues and partner organisations
- Experience of working autonomously, managing complex caseloads, contributing to policy development and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary and multi-agency environments
