Job overview:At AXA Health, we’re pleased to announce a permanent, full-time opportunity for a registered adult nurse to join our Cancer Care team in Glasgow. In this role, you’ll use your acute clinical expertise and case management skills to provide exceptional support to our members and their families during cancer treatment. Working closely with clinicians and hospitals, you’ll help ensure our members receive the highest standards of care.
Known internally as Nurse Case Manager - Cancer Care, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives. - Effectively manage claims and act as a clinical expert providing our members with specialist knowledge and assistance.
- Ensure members are aware of the treatment options within their cover and keep them informed of the progress of their claims.
- Provide telephone support during a difficult time to our members and their family.
- Be interested in our team, department and the wider business targets and how you can personally contribute to achieve these.
- Understand and role model the principles of claims cost management and identify potential areas of leakage.
- Develop in-depth knowledge, expertise and proficiency.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. After your initial training period, you’ll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.
We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
You’ll work full time, 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Induction & training:To help you settle into the team and prepare for success in your new role, you’ll attend a comprehensive induction at our Glasgow office. This induction typically lasts around 6 weeks. During this period, you’ll be required to come into the office each day.
Your skills & experience:- Registered Adult Nurse (RN).
- Current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC), and compliant with requirements for annual renewal and triennial revalidation.
- Substantive post-registration experience in acute clinical nursing; experience in cancer nursing would be advantageous.
- High levels of judgement, decision making and ownership.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage difficult conversations.
- Sound relationship management capabilities.
- Comfortable navigating various IT applications.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
Please also note that you’ll be screened through an enhanced DBS Check.
