The role:

Are you a passionate and motivated Health Visitor looking to make a meaningful difference to children and families across Greater Glasgow and Clyde? As a Health Visitor within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, you will play a vital role in promoting the health, wellbeing and development of children from birth to school entry. Working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will build strong relationships with families, deliver evidence-based interventions and support positive outcomes for children.

Key responsibilities:

Act as the named Health Visitor for children within your caseload, supporting their wellbeing from birth to school entry age
Deliver the Universal Health Visiting Pathway, carrying out developmental and wellbeing assessments and making timely referrals where appropriate
Work in partnership with families, empowering them through a strengths‑based approach to improve outcomes for children
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies to develop, implement and monitor child‑focused plans
Provide expert advice and support in relation to safeguarding, child protection and vulnerable families
Maintain high standards of clinical practice, governance, record keeping and information sharing in line with professional and legal requirements
Contribute to service improvement, clinical supervision, staff development and the delivery of safe, effective family‑centred care

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Registered Nurse or Midwife educated to degree level or equivalent and registered with the NMC
Post‑registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing and registration on Part 3 of the NMC Register
Educated to Master's level in a relevant nursing discipline or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, early intervention, child protection and health and social care pathways
Experience of managing a caseload, prioritising workload and meeting deadlines effectively
Ability to assess risk, apply critical thinking and make sound professional decisions in complex situations
Excellent communication skills with experience of working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children
