As NHS Scotland's unique provider of a national tele-health and tele-care service, we are responsible for the delivery of health advice and information by telephone and online services to the population of Scotland 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. NHS 24 is a patient-focused service providing the people of Scotland with triage, advice, guidance, referral and information on health and healthcare services.

As a Senior Dental Nurse Advisor, you will play a key leadership role within the Scottish Emergency Dental Service (SEDS), providing clinical and professional leadership to Dental Nurse Advisors and Dental Hub teams across NHS 24.

Working closely with the Lead Dental Nurse and wider service management team, you will support the delivery of a safe, effective and responsive national dental service. You will provide expert clinical advice, oversee service performance, support staff development, and contribute to the continuous improvement of dental services across Scotland.

You will also maintain your own clinical expertise, supporting telephone assessment and triage activity where required, particularly during periods of increased demand.

• Provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to Dental Nurse Advisors and Dental Hub teams across NHS 24.
• Lead, manage and develop a team, supporting performance, attendance, wellbeing and professional development.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe and effective services through adherence to clinical governance standards, policies and procedures.
• Act as a coach and mentor, promoting clinical excellence, continuous learning and professional competency.
• Support recruitment, induction and training activities while contributing to workforce planning and service development.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver service improvements and support operational performance during periods of increased demand.

• Be a GDC-registered Dental Nurse with substantial post-registration experience and relevant leadership experience.
• Demonstrate strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills in a patient-focused environment.
• Have experience leading, supporting and developing individuals and teams to achieve high standards of performance.
• Be an effective communicator with the ability to build positive relationships, influence others and manage challenging situations.
• Be committed to delivering safe, high-quality care and driving continuous improvement across dental services.
  
  Organised and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• IT literate with the ability to quickly learn and utilise a range of systems.

NHS 24 offers a complete benefits package, with a temporary contract on Band 6 £ 43,231 - £52,679* (pro rata for part-time hours). Placement on the salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.
