We’relooking for a Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team atPDSAGlasgow.
You’llbe up for a challenge and ready to adapt to the wide variety of cases we see at PDSA, no two days are ever quite the same.
You’llbe confident communicating with a wide range of colleagues and clients, andyou’llenjoy sharing your skills, supportingothersand leading by example in a busy, purpose-led environment.
You’llplay a key role across the hospital, getting involved in nurse consultations, inpatient care, dispensing medications andassistingin theatre, including Schedule 3 surgery.
You’lltake pride in delivering high standards of nursing care while keeping pets calm and owners informed, andyou’llbe comfortable working as part of a close-knit team to keep things running smoothly.
Your passion for animal welfare will drive you to champion the charity, promote client contributions and keep an eye on how we use our resources,suggesting improvements and efficiencies where you can. About the hospitalPDSA Glasgow is a highly collaborative, effective hospital, a great place for teamwork, case discussion and shared learning. Our teams have varied clinical interests, giving you access to a wide pool of knowledge and experience when discussing cases and treatment plans.
No two days are the same, with opportunities to work across a broad range of clinical areas within the hospital.
Our Pet Hospitals are modern and well-equipped and include separate dog and cat kennelling facilities, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, pipedgasesand extensive orthopaedic equipment.
Getting to and from the hospital is convenient with easy access to the M74 and M8, as well as free off-street parking in a secure car park.
We recognise the importance of work–life balance and have a rota designed to support it:
- Full-time or part-time hours considered, with flexibility around days and hours where possible.
- Work a range of 7.5-hour shifts between 8:30am and 6:00pm, supporting inpatient care, theatre, consultations, dispensary and telephone consults.
- Structured shift start and finish times, with regular protected breaks.
- Work 1 in 8 weekends with time off in lieu/stand-down and pay uplift. Bank holidays are covered on a rota, typically1–2 per year, paid at overtime rates.
